Free images inside of Affinity Photo
Did you know there are free images right inside of Affinity Photo? It’s true!
Just go to the Stock Panel, and choose which website you’d like to get images from.
If you don’t see the Stock Panel, go to the top of Affinity Photo to “View”, then go down to “Studio”, and select “Stock”.
Then you can search for any image you want. After you’ve found the perfect photo, just click and drag it into your document. You might need to resize the photo for it to fit your document correctly.
Is the convenience worth it?
It’s very convenient to get these photos from right inside of Affinity Photo, but personally, I prefer going to the actual websites to find images. There are two reasons I prefer the websites over the Stock Panel.
The first reason is that it’s much easier to search for images when you’re not cramped inside of the Stock Panel. The actual websites allow you to see much bigger versions of each photo.
Second, going to the actual websites gives you extra options, like the ability to search for images in a specific orientation, search for photos/illustrations/videos, or turn Safe Search on (which hides adult content).
For these two reasons, I actually don’t use the Stock Panel very much.
Don’t forget to give back!
Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay are all wonderful websites with incredible images. However, these sites depend on people like you and me to support them. If you have some photos you don’t mind sharing with others, I encourage you to post them on any of these sites. I’m sure there is someone out there that would love to use a photo you took. 🙂
